Pediatric Occupational Therapy provides treatment for sensory and motor skills including self-help, play, social skills, school readiness, fine motor skills, and cognitive development. It helps develop the skills and abilities they need to participate in all aspects of their daily routine. At Theraplay Pediatrics, we incorporate play into a child's interventions! Research shows that children learn best through play. We involve physical movement, games, puzzles, toys, songs, etc. Our children not only develop critical skills, but they also build upon their levels of confidence and self-esteem.
Below are just some of the concerns that we work with.

· Picky eater
· Child loses excessive liquid or food from his or her mouth when drinking or chewing
· Difficulty using a cup or straw at an age-appropriate time
· Child excessively mouths toys or objects beyond an age-appropriate time
Sensory processing is making sense of information that we receive through our senses, like movement, sound, and/or smell. A child may show the following symptoms:
· Overly sensitive or heightened reactivity to sound, touch, or movement
· Under-responsive to certain sensations (e.g., high pain tolerance, doesn't notice cuts/bruises)
